A Must Have Car Safety Tool for Seniors

Car Safety Tool

One thing I know from watching my 84-year-old mother try to get in and out of a car, is the difficulty in finding something safe to hold onto when entering and exiting.  There are never enough handles to hold onto and using the door handle is extremely dangerous.  Don't let your aging loved ones use the door handle as a makeshift grab bar, and prevent an accident waiting to happen.

I have heard too many stories of a senior falling when they grab onto the door handle, and it moves while trying to enter or exit a car. Fix this easy mistake with a grab bar.

If you have someone close to you that has this difficulty, you should have one of these car grab bars in your car.  They just slip into the door jamb anchor when needed, and then store it inside your car in case of an emergency.

Not only is it a safety grab bar but it has other functions as well.

* Can break the glass if you are trapped and cannot open the door.

* Can cut the seat belt if it is jammed or you are trapped.

As a Certified Aging In Place Specialist and a Certified Living In Place Professional, it is my passion to learn about new products that become available and can assist my clients in living safer, healthier and more comfortably.
